Disneyland Resort Paris Timeline

24th March 1987: An agreement to create "Euro Disneyland in France" is signed by the French Government, the Walt Disney Company and local authorities from the Ile-de-France/Marne-la-Vallée region.

August 1988: Excavation work begins.

April 1990: Building of the Disneyland Paris hotel begins.

12th April 1992: Disneyland Park Opens.

June 1993: Indiana Jones & The Temple of Peril is inaugurated.

March 1994: Inauguration of Casey Jr., le Petit Train du Cirque and Le Pays des Contes de Fées

1st October 1994: Euro Disneyland is renamed Disneyland Paris

31st May 1995: Space Mountain: From the Earth to the Moon is inaugurated.

April 1997: Disneyland Paris celebrates its 5th anniversary.

May 1997: The Gaumount Cinema Complex Opens in Festival Disney.

June 1997: Festival Disney is renamed Disney Village.

28th March 1999: Honey I Shrunk the Audience opens.

29th September 1999: Launch of Walt Disney Studios.

April 2000: The FASTPASS system is introduced.

10th January 2001: 100millionth guest visits Disneyland Paris.

16th March 2002: Opening of Walt Disney Studios.

6th April 2005: Space Mountain: Mission 2 launched.

July 2005: Premiere of Wishes Nighttime Spectacular.

8th April 2006: Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast opens.

9th June 2007: Crush's Coaster & Cars Race Rally open at Walt Disney Studios.

April 2007-March 2008: 15th Anniversary Celebrations

New attractions include Crush's Coaster, Cars Race Rally, The Twilight Zone iof Tower plus the opening of Toon Studio, a Castle Character Makeover and more!
