OPENING HOURS: So, when's the Park open? This depends upon the time of the year, and even the day of the week! Plus, guests at some of the Disney Resort Hotels (Newport Bay, Sequoia Lodge, Cheyenne & Santa Fe) may treat themselves to a Fantasyland Breakfast a whole hour before the park opens.

Staying at a Disney Resort Hotel? Then getting to the Parks is easy. There are free buses running all day from each Hotel (excluding the Disneyland Paris Hotel, Hotel New York and the Davy Crockett Ranch). Guests at the Disney hotels and Hotel l'Elysée Val d'Europe may also be able to enjoy extra time in Disneyland Park.

CHIP TIP: although the bus service is excellent, why wait? With the exception of the Davy Crockett Ranch all the hotels are in easy walking distance of the Parks - there are plenty of signposts so you won't get lost and the view along the Rio Grande can be lovely.

GETTING AROUND THE PARK: Aside from the various forms of Main Street transportation you've got two choices for exploring the rest of the Park: train or feet! The Disney Railroad stops at Main Street, Frontierland, Fantasyland and Discoveryland. But in fact it's easy to walk around the Park and you never know who you'll bump into!

You're welcome to come and go from the Parks during the day - just remember to get your hand-stamped as you leave so you can get back in again!

CHIP TIP: Don't think of the train as an easy shortcut -  you might find yourself waiting quite a while in which case you might just as well have walked to your next destination.

DALE TALE: But do take the train at least once! It's a relaxing way to view the Park plus you see parts of it you can't see any any other way. In particular, the Grand Canyon Diorama is only visible from the Railroad.

SHOPPING: Where to start? You could get so carried away with the shops you might forget to try the rides! And you can carry on shopping long after the Parks have closed at Disney Village. Don't worry about having to take that treasured glass Dumbo on Space Mountain - Resort Hotel guests can collect their purchases from Disney Village or their Hotel Boutique.

CHIP TIP: If you see something you like, buy it! Sure, most of the shops sell the same products but you never can tell. And with so many shops to visit, it can be hard trying to remember where you saw that much wanted item.

DALE TALE: Feel free to check out the shops in each of the Resort Hotels - just like the hotels they have their own theme.

Kids - don't forget to buy an autograph book! They're available in all the stores around the parks.

CHIP TIP: Furry paws find it easier to write with larger pens, but some characters just aren't able to write at all. Take a look at the paws on our pal Sully - there's just no way he can hold a pen!

RIDE INFORMATION: Check the board near Central Plaza for current waiting times and closures. Of course, sometimes rides may be closed for long-term maintenance - bear this in mind when you book your holiday.

FASTPASS! Chip and Dale can't recommend this enough! Fast Pass tickets are available for the following rides:

Walt Disney Studios
  • Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith
  • Flying Carpets over Agrabah
  •
    Disneyland Park
  • Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril
  • Space Mountain:Mission 2
  • Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast
  • Big Thunder Mountain
  • Peter Pan's Flight
  • Star Tours
  • It's so easy to use - and it's free! Just put your main Park ticket into the Fastpass machine and you'll get another ticket telling you what time to come back . Go off, enjoy another ride or two then come back and join the Fastpass line.

CHIP TIP: There are limits to the number of Fastpass tickets distributed each day. So if you really want to go on a particular ride, make sure you get your ticket early.

DALE TALE: The queue for Peter Pan's Flight is always very long. This is one ride you really need that Fastpass for!

RIDE RESTRICTIONS: some rides do have age or height restrictions - and don't think you can sneak past the Cast Members, they will check! It's best to find out these requirements BEFORE you get to the ride so as to avoid disappointment.

CHIP TIP: if someone is too young, short, or maybe just scared(!) don't queue twice.  Take advantage of BABYSWITCH!

PARADES: No doubt you'll have picked up your free map as you entered Main Street. Well the map shows you the route the Main Street Parade takes!  Pick a spot and get there in good time before the Parade starts.

CHIP TIP: It's quieter at the start of the route as most people head for Main Street. The view is just as good and the It's A Small World building makes a lovely backdrop.

DALE TALE: Or how about heading for the Festival Disney stage with it's tiered seats - OK, they're made of stone but it's still a seat!

FINALLY....if you see Chip or Dale please give them a hug!
